Japanese studio Sonic Team, publisher of the video game series starring Sega’s Blue Hedgehog, has released a short trailer for its upcoming title Sonic Frontiersa few days before the Summer Game Fest.
In the brief preview shown Tuesday exclusively on the specialist site IGN, we see Sonic running and collecting gold rings in a magical scene, but including futuristic broken artifacts. The little blue hedgehog is fighting the robots there.

The open world, the design and some specific game mechanics remind many Internet users and video game industry specialists of major titles. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildand the Horizon series.
This unveil took place more than a week before the kickoff of the video game industry’s big gathering, the Summer Game Fest, scheduled for June 9 online. Failing to host the Entertainment Electronic Expo (E3) this summer, several studios have chosen to showcase their novelties at this event hosted specifically by Geoff Keighley, the producer of the Game Awards, the Oscars of video games.
Other photos and details about the game Sonic Frontiers should be announced during the Summer Game Fest.
The game is scheduled to release on holidays in 2022.
