Through social networks, the former president of the United States and the billionaire continue to attack each other harshly. The vehemence has redoubled since the cancellation of the Twitter takeover.

The cancellation of the Twitter takeover is yet another opportunity for Donald Trump to attack Elon Musk. In recent months, the former US president has regularly poked fun at the many projects undertaken by the Tesla and SpaceX boss.

In a series of three publications on his own social network, Truth Social (broadcast by several Internet users on Twitter), Donald Trump recalled that the businessman had come to ask the White House for help. According to the former president, Elon Musk would have “knelt” and “begged” at that moment, if he had asked him to, he wrote on the night of July 12.

Attacks that have lasted months

Donald Trump also denigrated the “subsidized projects” of the richest man in the world. He mentions in particular “electric cars that don’t go far enough, autonomous vehicles that have accidents, or rockets to nowhere,” before advising Elon Musk to “get out of the Twitter mess.”

For his part, the leader of Tesla and SpaceX was content to respond on Twitter with a simple “Lmao” (short for laugh out loud, in French).

These social media attacks are far from the first, The Guardian recalls. But Elon Musk’s withdrawal of Twitter’s takeover offer on July 8 has reignited tensions between the two men. Already on July 9, Donald Trump took advantage of a meeting in Anchorage, Alaska, to ridicule him in front of his supporters.

Donald Trump came to consider that Elon Musk was “another shitty artist”, also assuring that Elon Musk had told him that he had voted for him (which the businessman immediately denied).

“Time to hang up”

Posted on Twitter by the media Breitbart NewsThese statements generated a new reaction from the richest man in the world.

There is no doubt that the upcoming Twitter takeover trial will lead to new battles between the two characters.
