A few days after the presentation of its new models, Samsung reaffirms its confidence in folding phones.

According to the president of Samsung, TM Roh: “the time has come for the democratization of folding smartphones”. More convinced than ever of the interest in these phone models, the Korean manufacturer should unveil its new models in a few days.

In a press release, the leader returns to the challenge he launched to his company more than ten years ago to increase the size of mobile screens, without affecting their portability. This led in 2019 to the marketing of the Galaxy Fold, the first folding smartphone.

This position comes a few days before the presentation of the new Samsung folding models. On August 10, the Korean giant will hold its Unpacked event, which will reveal, among other things, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

The first range (Flip) is committed to compactness, with a classic-sized smartphone capable of folding on itself, while the second (Fold) allows a classic-format smartphone to be opened, offering a screen comparable to that of a tablets.

The first images of these phones were leaked on July 19. Various sites, including MySmartPrice, posted images of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4, which have since been picked up on Twitter.

Today, the folding strategy is paying off with almost ten million copies delivered worldwide in 2021. And the president of Samsung believes that these figures should continue to increase.

Samsung also clarifies that Galaxy Z buyers prefer the Flip model by 70%. According to the leader, the Fold model would be more suitable for customers seeking productivity, in particular thanks to the multitasking mode, “which allows them to be more efficient and save time,” says TM Roh.
