The minister delegated to Digital removed from the Uber file to avoid any conflict of interest

Jean-Noël Barrot, whose sister heads Uber’s European communication, will stay out of any action related to the company, according to a decree published on July 22.

The delegate minister in charge of the digital transition and telecommunications, Jean-Noël Barrot, is excluded from the files related to the Uber VTC platform, to avoid any conflict of interest, indicates the Official Gazette this Friday.

Decree no. 2022-1029 of July 21, 2022 allows this member of the Government not to deal with a company for which his sister, Hélène Barrot, is director of communication for Western and Southern Europe. Mr. Barrot, upon learning of this family relationship, had indicated to BFMTV that he would comply with the provisions of this case.

Controversy around Uber and Emmanuel Macron
