At birth, a 22-year-old woman from Melbourne, 110 kilometers from Orlando, Florida (USA), faced strong winds and flooding caused by Hurricane Ian to reach the hospital. Despite the tension and tension, their daughter, Wajiha, was born healthy with a weight of 3.26 kilograms and a length of 50.8 centimeters.
Hanna-Kay Williams began to experience contractions on the night of September 27, when the area she lived in experienced the first signs of a coming hurricane with strong winds and heavy rain.
The mother knew she was going to give birth. So he, his fiancee, and his mother fled fallen trees, flooded streets and avenues to Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center.
“We decided to go to the hospital at 2 a.m. because that’s when the contractions really started,” Hanna-Kay told ABC News. “I was trying to control my breathing because the car was swaying in the wind and the rain was heavy but my fiance is a great driver so I knew I was in good hands.”
28 of them came to the hospital early in the morning, but she did not give birth quickly. Hanna-Kay had been giving birth for more than 20 hours until Hurricane Ian brought heavy rains and winds of more than 40 miles per hour in the central part of the state.
Doctors then decided that an emergency cesarean section was needed because the mother was not fully dilated and there were signs of fetal distress that occur when the baby has a change in heart rate or shows signs of oxygen deprivation before or during delivery.
“It became very clear that my dilation was not sufficient and that normal delivery would not be possible,” Anne said. “It was a bit of a disappointment because I was getting ready to have a normal delivery, but I knew a cesarean section would be best for me and my baby.”
Thanks to all the medical care, Hanna-Kay gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Wajiha. The name chosen by the groom means “beautiful woman” and “glorious”.
“I’ll give my fiancee all the credit,” he said for the boy’s name. We go on a journey to find the most unique name. He chose. When we look at him today and say his name, we know it was the perfect choice.”
