The Buffalo Bills (+450) are current favorites to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy next February, but the Kansas City Chiefs led by Mahomes (+800) are no different.
Rounding out the top five are the Philadelphia Eagles (+850), the Green Bay Packers (+1,000) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1,000).
The Bills and Chiefs opened as consensus favorites to win Super Bowl 2023, but the strengthening of AFC West and the loss of Tyreek Hill caused bookmakers to show some doubts about the Chiefs. However, it was all normal in the first week for the Chiefs who defeated the Cardinals 44-21.
At the same time, the Bills’ odds have dropped from +750 to +500, although the AFC East 2022 champions have not made any noteworthy additions out of season. They showed no signs of giving up when Josh Allen made a full performance in the season opener.
Meanwhile, two teams, the Green Bay Packers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, have entered the top five of the futures board since the opening of the odds in February. Both moves are the result of those teams clearing up their quarterback situations, with Aaron Rodgers choosing to stay in Green Bay and Tom Brady not retiring after initially deciding to hang him.
Prior to these respective announcements, the Packers opened at the 7th lowest on the futures board at +1600, while the Bucs opened at the 10th lowest (+2200).
Teams that made it to the top five future odds saw the San Francisco 49ers (+1,400 opening) and Dallas Cowboys (+1,400 opening) falling out of the top five.
