Ed Chapman, 23, has never dated. Disturbed by this, she came up with a bold idea: she decided to present herself as a good wife on a billboard to get liked. The resident of Leeds, England, told the British DailyMail newspaper that he had no luck with traditional methods of finding a wife, such as dating apps.
Hoping to finally get his first appointment, the British hired a company to install a giant billboard on the M621 road towards his city. In the picture she appears with a bouquet of flowers and the message “get out with me”, which in free translation is something like “meet me” or “go out with me”.
The young man’s unusual demeanor surprised his family. But apparently it worked, Ed told the newspaper he had been receiving messages from people ages 18 to 48 and was currently organizing for appointments.
“I’m at an age where I think I should have at least one date in my life. I’ve been single for 23 years and I’m ready to meet someone I hope to start a relationship with. There were a few dating apps but it didn’t quite work. So I decided I should try something else and it’s a good way to meet people.” I thought it would be, I have my own billboard,” Ed said.
The young man claims that several companies turned him down before he got someone to accept the billboard production offer.
Ed explains that the idea came about when he was walking through Leeds city center and saw many large billboards. While not a traditional method of dating, she believes the alternative fits her good-natured personality.
“This is kind of silly and I don’t like to take life too seriously, so using a billboard to find a girlfriend reflects that. I drew the board myself and took a picture of myself, which was one of the hardest things to do, but luckily I got a good enough one. I wanted the message to be clear and what I was looking for was clear,” he stressed and added a contact email.
Ed says he’s happy to be out of his comfort zone and is excited about their future encounter. He also stated that the first women who contacted him thought the billboard was a good and fun idea.
