Four family members were found dead in a city in the US state of California. The victims were Jasleen Kaur, 27, and Jasdeep Singh, 36, their 8-month-old daughter, Aroohi Dheri, and the boy’s 39-year-old uncle, Amandeep Singh.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the bodies were in a remote location in Merced City and were found yesterday. Police said the victims were abducted two days ago.
“Tonight our worst fears have been confirmed. We found four people dead. There are no words to describe the anger I felt,” Merced County Sheriff Vernon Warnke said at a news conference near the scene.
Authorities said a suspect was arrested yesterday. Sheriff officials claimed that the man, identified as 48-year-old Jesus Salgado, tried to kill himself “before the police got involved”.
According to the investigations, the family would be forcibly taken to a workplace near the 59th Highway. Security cameras showed that a person carrying a firearm entered the scene at around 09:00 on Monday (3).
Officials said Jasdeep Singh and Amandeep Singh were seen in the video with their hands tied behind their backs. The two men were placed in the back seat of a truck with Kaur and the baby. The car the gunman was driving was found burned in the nearby town of Winton.
