- 2022: Belarusian human rights activist Ales Bialiatski, Russian organization Memorial and the Ukrainian Center for Civil Liberties “for their impressive efforts in documenting war crimes, human rights violations and abuses of power”.
- 2021: Journalists Maria Ressa (Philippines) and Dimitri Muratov (Russia) “for their efforts to preserve freedom of expression, a prerequisite for democracy and lasting peace.”
- 2020: UN World Food Program (WFP), “for promoting its efforts to combat hunger, its contribution to improving peace conditions in conflict zones, and efforts to prevent hunger from becoming a weapon of war”.
- 2019: Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed for reconciliation between his country and Eritrea.
- 2018: Gynecologists Denis Mukwege (Democratic Republic of the Congo) and Yezidi Nadia Murad for their efforts to end the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war.
- 2017: International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), for its struggle to eliminate this weapon.
- 2016: Juan Manuel Santos for contributing to ending half a century of civil war in Colombia.
- 2015: The National Dialogue Quartet in Tunisia that saved the democratic transition in Tunisia.
- 2014: Malala Yousafzai (Pakistan) and Kailash Satyarthi (India) for their fight against child and youth exploitation and the right of all to education.
- 2013: Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), for its efforts to eliminate such weapons of mass destruction.
