Diana Armstrong of Minnesota (USA) stopped clipping her nails in 1997 and entered the Guinness Book of Records as the woman with the world’s longest nails on a pair of hands and the longest nails of all time. (female). The reason is the trauma of her daughter’s untimely death, LatishaAge 16, due to asthma attack while sleeping.
If all of Diana’s nails were longer than 1 meter and lined up in a straight line, all nails together would measure 13.06 meters – larger than a school bus. With nails so long on both hands, the woman could no longer dress unaided and stopped driving. Diana also doesn’t go to beauty parlors anymore because no manicurist agrees to have her nails painted by her relatives.
Diana’s daughter used to do her mother’s nails and had taken the time to paint them just before the tragedy that took her life. “He did my nails, and he did it the night before. We were up all night, so I couldn’t cut my nails after that.”
No one, not even Diana’s family, knew why she didn’t cut her nails. When asked by her children, she replied “mind your own business”. However, she was greeted with love and understanding as she revealed her reason.
