A 22-year-old man underwent surgery to remove the metal cup he had placed on his body by pushing through his anus. The emergency procedure took place at the Patna Medical College Hospital in India.

According to the Indian newspaper News Archyuk, Ritesh Kumar was suffering from severe pain in the abdomen. The medical team found that a glass with a diameter of 7 cm prevented bowel movements. The patient said he introduced the object on a drunken night.

Indra Shekhar Kumar, Superintendent of Patna Medical College Hospital, directed the surgery and said it was a risky procedure, but a team of 11 doctors removed the trophy safely.

“This is a very rare occurrence, but our surgeons removed the cup and the surgery was successful,” the surgeon said.

Ritesh received a colostomy bag and was hospitalized for about a week. The scholarship must be withdrawn in January only.

The young man claims that he was drunk when he inserted the glass into his anus and does not remember what happened.
