During a chase across the United States, a motorcycle hit by a police stun gun engulfed in flames. According to US broadcaster CNN, a state trooper tried to stop an unlicensed motorcycle on the outskirts of Little Rock.
Agents explained that the fire started because the man was carrying a backpack containing a gallon of gasoline. The episode took place on October 13 in Arkansas (USA).
38-year-old motorcyclist Christopher Gaylor was traveling at 160 km/h and, past several traffic signs and traffic lights, entered an interstate road where he was spotted by vehicles.
State police reported that Gaylor was off the highway as soon as they noticed he was being chased by the guards. Arriving at a residential area, he jumped off his motorcycle and ran, intending to throw off the cops.
However, one of the agents fired a stun gun at the suspect and crashed into the backpack he was carrying. Quickly, a ball of fire appeared on Gaylor’s back and engulfed him in seconds.
The incident was recorded by security cameras. In the footage, it is seen that the police are shouting “it’s burning” and trying to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. Police teams treated the motorcycle medically until the ambulance arrived.
According to the company, Gaylor remains in the hospital, but his condition is stable and recovering. Despite this, he is charged with several traffic violations and other crimes.
“He faces charges such as criminal evasion, lack of registration, driving with a suspended license, and reckless driving,” the statement said.
