Mountain lion caught roaming Los Angeles and scaring residents

A mountain lion, also known as a cougar or cougar, was captured after being spotted roaming the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles (USA) on Thursday afternoon (27).

Authorities placed the wild animal next to a primary school that had to temporarily suspend classes for safety reasons. Educational institution students and staff had to take shelter elsewhere.

According to US network NBC, the operation was carried out by the Los Angeles Police Department with the support of teams from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. They reassure the animal that it can be safely rescued.

The mountain lion was originally hidden among some trees on an alley near the Brentwood Country Club golf course.

A video shows the cat wandering through some of the trees in the club. Noticing the lion approaching Brentwood Science Magnet Elementary School, one of the establishment’s staff called the police.

While the security circle was increased, citizens on the streets of the neighborhood were advised to stay away from chaos in their cars, homes or other points.

The operation, which started at 10:00 local time, ended around 16:00. The lion was found in the backyard of a house and was captured by a team from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The unconscious cat was loaded onto a truck and taken to a suitable habitat.

According to authorities, the settlement was evacuated unharmed and no one was injured. Where it might have originated was unknown.
