Masquerade who robbed shop with samurai sword arrested 10 days later

US Police arrested a man who robbed a store with a samurai sword while wearing a clown mask. The case, heard early in the morning of October 13 in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States, had been sought by authorities for at least ten days.

According to local broadcaster WJACTV, 39-year-old William Clancy was charged with theft, reckless threats, assault, purchase of stolen goods and possession of criminal instruments.

He was caught on security cameras entering a business with a samurai sword in hand and asking the cashier for money.

According to the police, he left the back and hid in the middle of a forest near his workplace.

Images of the masked robbery went viral on social media, and with that, police were able to quickly identify the suspect.
