The Brazilian, who was surprised by the fight between the gangs working in the Brixton district of London, died. Guilherme Messias da Silva, 23, was injured when a car collided with the driver of another vehicle, which opened fire.
The boy, who works as a delivery boy in the British city, was on the motorcycle on his way to the last delivery when he was shot on Sunday night (30). The driver also collided with parked vehicles before attempting to flee on foot before being followed by passengers in the second vehicle who had fired on him.
Born in Petrolina de Goiás, Guilherme was pronounced dead in a hit-and-run event. The driver of the car also did not resist injuries, but his identity was not disclosed by the police, according to information on The Sun website, which underlined that the young Brazilian was not treated as a suspect by the local police.
A colleague of the Brazilian, who also works for delivery app Deliveroo, described Guilherme as a “good boy” and said he plans to live in Brazil by the end of this year.
“He was my friend. It was his last delivery before he returned home,” said Paulo Silva, 42, who accompanied the removal of the boy’s body from the scene.
The Petrolina de Goiás governorate commemorated Guilherme on social media, expressing “solidarity” to the delivery man’s family and wishing “comfort in this time of pain”.
