Conjoined 22-year-old twins Carmen and Lupita Andrade go through a “learning period” during the evolution of one and a half years of dating.

The sisters, who were born in Mexico and live in Connecticut, in the United States, talked about how they coped with intimacy and the couple’s marriage plans by answering a series of questions on YouTube channel Jubilee since they were two years old.

Lupita classifies herself as “asexual and aromantic”, while Carmen is in a relationship with Daniel M., whom she met on the dating app Hinge.

“It was a learning process for everyone. Frankly, we had a conversation about what limits are possible, and we’re not that close, and she accepts that,” Carmen said.

According to her, her older sister constantly jokes about the couple’s relationship. “I like making fun of both,” Lupita assumes.

Last year, a video of the “sailing” sister went viral on social media. “I’m the one who ruined all the photos of Carmen and her boyfriend,” Lupita says in a video.

In a broadcast celebrating their anniversary, Daniel M. declared himself to Carmen. “Have a year of love and laughter with you, my love. Happy anniversary. Note. It looks like you owe me $20.”

Despite the relationship, Carmen has no plans to formalize a potential relationship. “I’m not considering getting married right now because we’re 22. Either way, whoever I’m dating today or who I’m dating in the future, I’d rather be partners than really married.”

Also, Carmen says she doesn’t want to have children. “I don’t want children, I can’t have children, and I don’t want to get in front of someone who doesn’t deserve a whole bunch of psychological problems,” she summed up.

Carmen and Lupita have two arms but only one leg each, Carmen controls the right leg and Lupita the left. When they were born in 2002, they were expected to live just 72 hours. Survivors came across information that leaving medical personnel could result in the death of one in two people or death in years of intensive care. So they stayed together and adapted to such a life.

In an interview with Anthony Padilla, Lupita admits it was “weird” and “embarrassing” to attend her sister’s date with her boyfriend. When asked how she deals with the moments of love between the two, Lupita says she is “disconnected” from her own mind and plunges into her cell phone. “If he touches me at any point, I’ll punch him right away,” she assures.

The two even claimed that they were inappropriately “fetishized” by the idea that someone was “having sex with two people at the same time”.

Despite this situation, neither of them see themselves as disabled. “If you make it an injury, it’s an injury,” they say.
