there are countless of them cents on the dollar scattered around the world, however, some contain bugs or errors for which collectors are willing to pay fortunes.
How is the penny on the dollar that you can earn fortunes with?
It concerns 1977 Lincoln Penny, and is valuable for one feature in particular: its obverse, created by Victor David Brenner to commemorate the centenary of Lincoln’s birth, is almost identical to the 1909 design. Brenner’s initials, VDB, which were moved from the back to the end of the 1909 and inserted under the bust of President Abraham Lincoln in 1918, are the main variation between the 1977 coin and the 1909 version.
The year 1977 is visible on Lincoln’s right and the phrase “In God We Trust” is written above the former president’s head. The word “Freedom” appears to the left of the president.
The 1909 Brenner stalk design, which can be seen on the 1977 cent, has been replaced by the reverse of the 1959 Lincoln Memorial, designed by Frank Gasparro. The lower right of the Lincoln Memorial bears the initials of Gasparro, FG.
The phrase “One cent” is written under the frame and around the edge, while the words “United States Of America” are engraved around the top half of the reverse along the edge.
Lincoln Cent was made of bronze and nickel until 1982 when a copper-plated zinc alloy was introduced and its price can reach 250 dollars.
