During an air show in Bogado, Argentina on Saturday (5), a stunt plane crashed one of its wings into a communication antenna. A video shows the moment of the accident that caused the injuries.
According to the Argentine newspaper Página 12, the pilot escaped injury, but four spectators were injured when part of the antenna structure fell to the ground. In the video, several people watch as the plane approaches.
The DHC-1 Chipmunk aircraft collided with the right wing against an antenna of the Bragado Flying Club and had to make an emergency landing – it was accomplished without further problems.
Two of the injured spectators were treated at the same place and returned to their homes. The other two were transported to the local hospital, where they were tested.
Authorities said they will open an investigation to determine the causes and responsibilities of the incident.
Despite the accident on the first day of the activities, the event continued until Sunday (6).
