On Saturday, a 2.75-metre mako shark jumped and crashed into a boat in New Zealand (5). There were 6 people on the boat, frightened by the situation.

According to The Sun, the animal was hooked shortly before the “invasion.” The ship’s captain, Ryan Churches, was trying to catch a kingfish with five customers off Whitianga, New Zealand.

In a video recording of the event, it is possible to see the shark struggling on the deck, while only the ship’s windshield protected the passengers. Ryan claimed it was the first time he had seen a shark jump into the boat.

He told Captain Yeni Zealand reporter: “We were fishing and there were five customers on board, waving the bait. That’s when the animal took our bait. About 30 seconds later the shark jumped on the boat. It was crazy.”

The captain added, “We were all looking at the mast and the rope was coming towards the side of the boat when it suddenly changed direction. Then the shark jumped in and we were terribly scared.”

“We were fishing normally and the shark started jumping. I told the customers, ‘if they jump on the boat, get out'”

Ryan was worried, thinking about how to get the shark out of the boat.

Fortunately, the animal survived and was safely back in the water.

“There wasn’t much we could do,” he admitted, happy with the result that neither the passengers nor the animal were injured.
