Two Finns, who became half-brothers after their parents got married, fell in love and joined forces in an intriguing event in Finland.

Matilda Eriksson, 23, says she never thought of getting married until she met 27-year-old Samuli. She told Yahoo News that her mother met her around the time she married her father in 2019.

According to the young woman, the first meeting with Samuli took place at her mother’s 50th birthday party. She described the feeling of seeing him as “falling in love at first sight”.

She said that after some flirting, the two started a serious relationship and soon started living together.

“After that it took us two weeks to start dating and she moved right in with me. It was pretty and natural right away.”

Matilda claims that many of her friends are meddling in her stepfather’s relationship with her son. “Some of our friends were a little skeptical and [estavam] some kind of judgment. Matilda, who is not a “blood” relative of her current husband, said: “I think it’s because of confusion that someone I call my half-brother is called my boyfriend.”

Despite the criticism, she enlisted her mother’s help to stay confident and secure in marrying Samuli.

My mother told me at that moment to do the right thing, to put everything aside and listen to my heart, and this led me to marry Samuli. We’ve both had a few long relationships before, but we’ve never felt this way for anyone.

Even so, Matilda Eriksson suspects her mother and Samuli’s father secretly wanted them to be together.

After confirming the family’s support, Fin was worried about whether there would be possible legal ramifications to marrying a close relative. So she started doing a lot of research on the internet to make sure she didn’t run into any problems.

“At first we found some false and outdated information that it would be illegal, but fortunately one of my sister’s best friends is a law student and she told us it would be okay if we wanted to get married,” she said.

After the wedding, Matilda received a blessing from her mother, who declared that she and Samuli were “100% perfect match”.

The Finnish woman said she is happily married, but for now she and her husband are in no rush to have children as they want to invest more in their lives.
