Ukraine on Wednesday (16) requested “immediate access” to the area where a missile had crashed the day before in Poland and which, according to Warsaw, was “likely” to be a Ukrainian anti-aircraft shell.
“Ukraine requests immediate access to the impact zone for defense representatives and border guards,” Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, said on Twitter, adding that he wanted a “joint review of the incident.”
“We are ready to hand over the proof of the Russian trace we have,” he said.
Moscow has officially denied responsibility for this launch.
The secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council added that Kiev is “waiting information” from its partners, who concluded that it was “a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile”.
Earlier Polish President Andrzej Duda said “There is no indication that this was a deliberate attack on Poland” and noted that the missile that killed the two people was “most likely” Ukrainian.
Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), said there was no indication of a “deliberate attack” along the same lines.
