A 39-year-old tourist died in Brazil during an experience with the zip line. For reasons under investigation, Sergio Murallo he was halfway through when the cable gave way and the victim ended up slamming hard into the sand. The fatal accident, which took place on October 10, also went viral because the wounded man himself recorded his own death as he wanted to record the particular experience. The tragedy occurred in Ceará, in northeastern Brazil.

The tourist was in the company of his family when he decided to descend the Canoa Quebrada supported by a cableway. Also, the man was recording his thrilling fall. But abruptly, halfway through the route, the moment is glimpsed when the cableway gives way and the tourist ends up falling violently against the sand.

Across the attraction, Sergio Murilo’s wife was also taping her husband’s tour. She had already crossed the cable car. After her fall, his wife started running desperately to help her partner.

According to the Brazilian press, Sergio Murilo was rescued on the spot and transferred to hospital, but arrived lifeless despite attempts to revive him along the way.

The event took place on October 10 and the authorities are now trying to find out the condition of the cableway and establish who is to blame for the tourist’s death.

The attraction’s owner and a worker have already been questioned. Investigations are also underway to determine the height of the fall.

It also emerged that the deceased tourist was from Belem and a few days ago he had arrived with his wife in Aracati, a place known throughout the world for the Canoa Quebrada beach. Moments before the accident, Santana even posted photos of the zip line on her social media.

Canoa Quebrada, known as the pearl of the east coast of Ceará, Brazil, is an international tourist resort 164 km from Fortaleza, in the municipality of Aracati. This small fishing village, between dunes and cliffs, has beautiful landscapes and is becoming popular with tourists.
