There is a series in Netflix which sits at the top of the most viewed list on the platform. It concerns “Warrior Nun”a source string English and original of the platform written by simon barrywho recently finished his second season.

Hero Alba Baptistand released in 2020, it was widely acclaimed by critics and the publicwhich made him accelerate in the Top 10 of the platform and has obtained several awards. What many don’t know, due to its fantasy theme, is that it is Based on a true story.

What is “Warrior Nun” about?

The plot follows avaa young nun from 19 years which is part of a secret order charged with defending humanity from demons who inhabit the planet.

The original story was developed by the writer and cartoonist Ben Dunnin the cartoon of his authorship “Warrior Nun Areala”published in 1994. In this book, the protagonist is called Masters Shannonwhich is part of a military group which responds to Catholic church.

What’s interesting is where the cartoonist got the idea for his work from. According to him, inspiration comes from a note what he read in New York Times that same year. In that article they were talking about Marie Chantala French nun located in the New York borough of Harlemwhich he began to develop an interest in Martial arts.

Largely for her own pleasure and in another due to growing crime in the neighborhood, Chantal turned to the practice taekwondo Y judowhat encouraged other nuns of the Church to follow his path, at different levels. So, Dunn took advantage of this curious story to give a touch of fantasy to yours.
