Russia and Ukraine accused each other this Sunday bomb the Zaporizhia nuclear power plantlocated in the south of the Ukrainian territory and occupied by the Russian army.
Kiev “He doesn’t stop his provocations intended to create a threat of man-made catastrophe at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Ukrainian forces fired on Saturday and Sunday more than 20 “large caliber shells” against the plant, the largest in Europe, according to the same source.
The shells exploded between electrical blocks 4 and 5 and hit the roof of a “special building” located near these blocks, the document adds.

Despite the bombings, “the level of radiation in the plant area continues to be within the norm”, underlines the Russian press release.
the Ukrainian nuclear agency however, he accused the Russians shortly thereafter to have bombed the plant.
“This morning of November 20, 2022, following numerous Russian bombings, at least 12 impacts were recorded against the territory of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant,” Energoatom said, accusing the Russians “once again” of “endangering the whole world.”
This was reported, for his part, by the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi “powerful explosions” which shook the plant on Saturday and Sunday.
Worry
“This news (…) is extremely worrying. There have been explosions at the site of this major nuclear power plant, which is completely unacceptable,” he warned.
Grossi reiterated his call on Moscow and Kiev to agree as soon as possible a nuclear safety zone around the plant, an agreement he has been seeking for months through intense consultations with both sides, but so far without success, the statement recalls.
Russia, which has been conducting an offensive in Ukraine since February 24, militarily occupies the territory of the establishment.
The plant is located in the Zaporizhia region, one of the territories whose annexation has been claimed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Russia and Ukraine have been accusing each other of bombing the plant site for several months.
