A 68-year-old man invested £130,000 to undergo painful surgery, break his leg bones and grow eight centimeters.

According to the news of the British channel ITV, Roy Conn was 1.67 meters and 1.75 meters tall after undergoing an operation called thigh bone lengthening in the United States.

Besides being expensive, the procedure is painful: He had to break both thighbones and insert a rod in them. In total, the man spent an hour and a half under the procedure, after which he received medical approval.

“I didn’t have a big complex about it, I just always knew it was a miscarriage,” the patient said in an interview with This Morning on Thursday morning (17).

He admitted that he suffered during the recovery process, but said he didn’t spend much time thinking about how the procedure would go.

“I wasn’t too worried. In a way, the idea came to my mind and I went after it,” he said.

The doctor in charge of the surgery, Kevin Debiparshad, also made a statement to British journalists, saying that after the pandemic, patients’ adherence to the procedure increased as they were able to experience the recovery process at home.

“The patient undergoes a ‘stretching’ of about one millimeter a day. It takes about 25 days to grow two and a half centimeters,” said the doctor.
