The Ukrainian military claims to have found a new torture chamber used by the Russians in the region of Chersonoccupied by Kremlin soldiers until just over a week ago, local Ukrainian agencies reported on Tuesday.
The new torture center allegedly used by the Russians was located in Strilkove, a town in the Kherson region in the south of the country, partially liberated by Ukrainian soldiers.
“The Russian occupation forces have set up a torture chamber on the grounds of a recreation center in the village of Strilkove, Henichesk district of Kherson region,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in its Facebook account.
In that center “Ukrainian citizens were detained and tortured, in violation of the norms of international humanitarian law and of the laws and customs of war”, specified the military command.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office already reported on Monday the discovery of torture chambers in four buildings in the recently liberated city of Kherson, the regional capital.

The plaque fixed to the pavement of the avenue bears the name and signature of the well-known Spanish chef and the date on which it was placed on this promenade, where personalities who have helped Ukraine are recognised.
