The Constitutional Court (TC) of Peru ordered Congress to cancel the constitutional complaint process against President Pedro Castillo who proposes to disqualify the president for five years for “treason” for having declared that his country could facilitate an access to the sea for Bolivia.
With a resolution issued on Tuesday, the Constitutional Court declared well founded the “habeas corpus” case brought by the president against the subcommittee on constitutional charges of Parliament, which upheld the complaint of treason against Castillo.
The document contains the signatures of the six magistrates who signed the resolution declaring “the nullity of the agreement of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Charges of Congress (…) as well as the final minutes of the Constitutional Appeal 219, for violation of the right to due reasoning in parliament ”.
