a shocking one treasure with 8,407 ancient coins hidden for more than 700 years it was discovered in Scotland with the help of metal detectors.

A team of experts is cataloging the unearthed ancient silver coins, which can be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, reflects Scottish Daily Express.

As they explain, the coins were made with a sign called Dunscor treasurenamed after the Dumfriesshire county village near which the fabulous discovery was made.

The treasure was found during the Covid-19 pandemic as a large number of hobbyists in the UK started using it metal detectors.

This is, strictly speaking, one of the reasons why the number of discoveries has grown exponentially in the last two years, reaching 200 weekly.

Proof of this is that the Scottish Treasures Unit has requested the addition of extra staff.

The most important in 200 years

The latest coin hoard discovered is considered to be the most important for at least 200 years. Y it may be the largest in Scottish history.

It is made up of both 13th and 14th century coinsmostly King Edward I and II pennies, as well as other pieces of silver from Britain and Europe, reflects RT.
