Many stars who aren’t exactly footballers attend the Qatar 2022 World Cup. the ice cream makers who work in the quintessential food area of Doha are some of them.
Every time someone asks for ice cream, they put on a show. They bring the cone to their customers and, as if the sweet were the ring in a carousel and they were the carousel, they invite the buyer to take it off their hands, which is impossible.
They all use the same technique: they offer semi-finished or finished ice cream with a stick and for a few seconds they repeatedly pretend to give it to the buyer.
Thanks to the fact that there are many videos of them – and they are very successful on Twitter – tourists who have traveled to Qatar to watch the World Cup are already very familiar with them.
ice cream maker and showman
Harun, one of the crazy ice cream makers, is Turkish and speaks only English. He is 42 years old and works in the Souq Waqif market in Doha. He will stay there for three months until he raises an amount of money (about $15,000) that will help him through the rest of the year.
“I miss my family,” she told TN. “I have four children in Turkey and I come to work here for three months to earn a good amount of money which allows me to rest until next year,” Harun explained.
Each of your ice cream (with show included) costs 1700 Argentine pesos. It works from five in the afternoon to three in the morning and serves about 300 a day. “It’s normal for me,” Harun said of the frequency of sales.
When he returns to Turkey, he won’t sit idly by: in his native country he has his own business that he will have to run for the rest of the year.
the master of beers
Another peripheral character of the World Cup is the fanatical British beer enthusiast who collects containers made in the participating countries in every international competition.
Gus Hully from England has done it again: he received beers from each of the 32 countries participating in the Qatar 2022 World Cup. He proudly displayed them on his social networks and his feat went viral. He had done the same in Russia 2018.
Like all coaches of World Cup qualifying teams, Hully had to make his own team too. Only instead of picking the players, he picked the brands of beer.
“A beer from the 32 countries playing in the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Here we go!” wrote the fan on Twitter and Facebook.
