“We don’t know what animal it is, and if it’s an alien, worse,” they told Jam Press. Curious, they asked their followers for their opinion on the networks. The best answer came from the marine biologist Eric Comin.

For Comin, the hand likely belonged to a cetacean, a group of marine mammals that includes dolphins and whales, the Jam Press reported.

the biologist, who he thinks it’s probably a dolphin finhe also thinks a lot more testing is needed to determine which sea creature the hand belongs to.

Comin also assumes that the mammal has been dead in the water for 18 months.

Another rare find at sea

In May 2021, the discovery of a strange fish off the coast of California (USA) baffled biologists. At the time, Crystal Cove State Park shared some photos of the specimen that resembled a prehistoric animal.

The animal in question had an anglerfish-like appearance, albeit more “monstrous,” they described. They also explained that it is a type of monkfishof which there are about 200 variations.

But the most amazing and mysterious thing about the appearance on the shore is that this is a species that stays about 1,000 meters deep in the sea. For this seeing it intact, they wondered how it could get there in this state.

The person responsible for the discovery was a named beachgoer Ben Estethat he was walking around Newport Beach, and decided to alert the lifeguards and park rangers.

jessica trampeducation coordinator for Davey’s Locker Sportfishing & Whale Watching, told the Los Angeles Times he didn’t know if Estes “understood the implications of what he found.”

In the park they were able to determine that the fish found is a himantolophus sagamiusbetter known as “Pacific Football Fish” or balloon fish from the Pacific.

Due to its size, they discovered that it was a female, the only one to have an antenna that lights up, capable of attracting its prey up to 1,000 meters deep.

Equipped with pointed and transparent fangs, its mouth is capable of sucking in prey of the same size. It also has some kind of tentacles which makes it unusual.
