A cat has been named the world’s oldest living cat by the Guinness World Record. Entering the record books at the age of 26 years and 329 days, Flossie is described as a player and curious by her current owner, although she was deaf due to her advanced age.

Born in 1995, the kitten has lived in different houses throughout her life. According to the world record-breaking organization, Flossie started her journey living with a hospital worker in Merseyside, England.

Ten years later the first teacher passed away and his sister took the cat. But 14 years later the woman also died and Flossie needed a new home. He was initially taken in once again by a member of his adoptive family.

For three years, the cat had a permanent home, but was adopted into an animal shelter when the owner felt that due to Flossie’s advanced age, he could no longer care for her.

At that time, current guardian Vicki Green met the kitten and, having experience with older animals, decided to adopt her. Since then the woman has shown great love and affection for me to talk about Flossie.

“I would be a very happy lady if I was in this good shape at her age with someone who did what was best for me when I needed her most,” Vicki Green told Guinness.

The title for the oldest cat ever lived belongs to Creme Puff, a cat from the US state of Texas, who lived a long life of over 38 years.
