A driver fleeing a police chase in Dearborn, Michigan, USA, found the body of an unidentified 31-year-old woman in the trunk of his car. The driver, stopped by the police, accelerated his vehicle and only stopped after the car crashed into a residential wall.
“Investigators outside of Detroit found the human remains of a woman in the trunk of a vehicle after a chase that resulted in a deadly shootout,” police told local news channel WDIV.
The discovery was made yesterday afternoon in Dearborn, Michigan, after local police attempted to “stop a vehicle involved in an endangered missing persons investigation,” according to the Michigan State Police.
Authorities say Dearborn police chased the vehicle “before it was overlooked.” A short time later, agents stumbled upon “an accident scene a short distance from where officers had overlooked the vehicle.”
According to the statement made by the police teams, the driver lost control of the steering wheel while escaping and crashed into the wall of a house. “As the Dearborn lawmakers approached the car, there was an exchange of fire between the lawmakers and the suspect,” Michigan State Police said.
“Suspect female driver was found dead with gunshot wounds,” state police said. “Human remains were also found in the trunk of the vehicle. These remains could not be identified.”
While no police officers were injured during the action, a 34-year-old passenger in the suspect vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The driver was determined to be a 36-year-old woman. The woman who was shot in the head died at the scene.

Authorities said police found the body of a 31-year-old woman, who appeared to have had non-accidental trauma, in the trunk of the vehicle. He was also pronounced dead at the scene.
A 9mm Glock pistol was found inside the suspect vehicle and autopsies are expected today. Detectives work with Murfreesboro detectives and gather more evidence, execute search warrants, and interview witnesses.
“The Dearborn Homicide Task Force is conducting the investigation that may have ties to another homicide investigation out of state,” state police said.
