Twenty children were taken to hospital on Tuesday in western Osaka prefecture, Japan, after feeling sick from a strong smell in their schoollocal press reported quoting fire officials.

Although the firefighters have not found anything in particular, the investigation is still ongoing.

The local police reported that the students had mild symptoms of intoxication, so their lives are not at risk. They also specified that the preliminary investigations did not find any anomalies in the school facilities and were unable to detect the origin of the smell.

The city board of education said the students were in class at the time of the incident and all moved to the school gymnasium afterward to avoid more serious consequences.
