A Turkish MP from the opposition he was rushed to the hospital and was in intensive care on Tuesday in Ankara after receiving a blow to the head during a fight in parliament, a representative of his party announced on Tuesday.
The opposition lawmaker Hüseyin Örs58, of the Iyi Parti party, was in critical condition after also suffering from a serious arrhythmia during a fight with a deputy from the ruling Islamist party AKP.
Örs was beaten – for still unknown reasons – by an AKP deputy during a debate on the state budget.

According to the electronic version of the Cumhuriyet newspaper, the attacked deputy was transferred to a clinic, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit.
“We found out that your state got worse after being hit to the head. (…) A cardiac defibrillation was performed in the hospital,” Aylin Cesur, deputy of the Iyi Parti (the “Good Party” in Turkish, nationalist), the same group as the hospitalized lawmaker, told reporters.
His condition is considered “critical,” Cesur said.
The images released by the Turkish press show the deputy from Trabzon, on the Black Sea (northeast), beaten by a representative of the ruling party, the AKP (Islamo-conservative Party for Justice and Development).

The brawl broke out during a debate on the 2023 budget.
