In Veracruz, Mexico, a 20-year-old pregnant woman was kidnapped and murdered so that her child could be stolen while she was still in her womb. Rosa Isela was thought to be missing since November 30, according to the local newspaper El Universal. His body was found on Saturday 3 (3) and was buried today amid demands for justice.
Rosa was nine months pregnant and had received a message on social media from a woman offering to donate clothes for her baby. His body was found in the municipality of Medellín, about 20 km from where he was last seen.
Police arrested two suspects related to the incident. Both identified as Gonzalo “N” and Verónica “N” were with a newborn child who was probably the victim’s son when they were arrested. Authorities reported that the child is in good condition and is being treated by the authorities.
According to Cuitláhuac García Jiménez, governor of Veracruz, Veónica “N” may have planned the crime for months and even deceived her own family into believing she was pregnant. She even went to the Red Cross bleeding, pretending to have given birth to the baby removed from the victim’s womb.
He and his accomplice, whom he offered 10,000 Mexican pesos (approximately R$2,600) to aid the crime, will respond on charges of attempted kidnapping, femicide, and child theft.
Authorities denied the existence of any baby trafficking gangs during the investigations.
