The OAS (Organization of American States) convened an extraordinary session to discuss the political crisis in Peru. The aim is to approve a joint statement on events in the country by this Wednesday (7).
Minutes before parliament met to discuss the impeachment process, then-Peruvian president Pedro Castillo announced that Congress had been dissolved and an “extraordinary emergency government” had been formed to call for new elections and then change the country’s Constitution. .
