Hubert and June Malicote, both 100 years old, spent eighty years together and did not stay apart for long, even when it was time to say goodbye. After 79 years of marriage, they died in the United States just 20 hours apart.
The American couple died last week, according to the Dayton Daily News from Ohio (USA). Their son, Sam, “parted together,” explained.
Sam said that June fell ill after Thanksgiving, which was celebrated on November 24, while she was in the hospice. Her husband Hubert, who did not react well to the news, was “devastated” when he learned about his wife’s health condition.
Hubert and June were admitted to a terminally ill hospital and remained together until he died at 9:15 p.m. on November 30. About 20 hours after Hubert’s death, June died at 5:40 p.m. on December 1.
I feel sorry but I shouldn’t. Who can expect to live such a life? They lived a long and happy life together and devoted themselves to God and family. Sam, the couple’s son
Hubert and June 1941 met, but they spent time apart as Hubert went to serve in the US Navy during World War II. When he returned, the two were married. Together they had three children, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
