At least two people were killed and five injured in Russian airstrikes in southern Ukraine’s Kherson region, Ukraine’s governor said on Sunday (11).
Kiev forces regained control of the city of Kherson in November as the Moscow army retreated to the left bank of the Dnieper River.
“The enemy has attacked the settlements of Kherson again,” said Governor Yaroslav Yanushevich on his Telegram account.
According to the governor, the Russian army bombed a maternity ward, a cafe and residences.
After Kiev recaptured the city, Russian forces began bombing and destroying the city’s basic infrastructure.
The governor announced that “90%” of the area has been restored to electricity.
In Odessa, further west along the Black Sea, electricity is “gradually” returning, but 300,000 people are still without electricity, according to the region’s governor, Maksym Marchenko.
Authorities also reported “outages in the water supply” in some neighborhoods of the city.
