This Sunday (11) a man opened fire at an apartment meeting in Rome and killed three women in action. Three people were injured, including a 50-year-old woman with a “skull wound” and a very serious condition. A 65-year-old man had to be taken to the hospital after going into shock.

The tragedy was not greater because a 67-year-old man who was among the injured managed to drop the gun from the gunman’s hand, identified as Claudio Campiti. In addition to the Italian who applied to the Gemelli Polyclinic, one of the injured is an 80-year-old woman who was shot in the chest but not life-threatening.

The victims were identified as Sabina Sperandio, Elisabetta Silenzi and Nicoletta Golisano.

“He fired the first shot, then the second shot and killed the second person. Then he hit the third woman, I was the fourth, but I managed to take action. He entered the room, closed the door, shouted that he was going to kill.” everyone started shooting,” said the anonymous “hero”.

Another witness said Campiti had closed the exits from the site and it took some time before people could escape.

“He shot at the board of directors of the consortium” [do prédio]???????? The gun jammed at a certain moment and was stopped by some of the men present and they unlocked the doors. “I survived because I threw myself under a table and crawled out into the hallway.”

According to the first official information, Campiti was arrested and taken to a police station in Tor di Quinto. He has given agents a Glock semi-automatic pistol, but other possible weapons used are being sought.

The man had formally requested the possession of a gun, but this request was denied by the gendarmerie. It is possible to see many fascist and Nazi symbols and hate speech against other people, especially politicians, on their profiles on social networks.

According to her acquaintances, Campiti became a completely different person after her 14-year-old son died on a ski slope in Italy in 2012. Three people were convicted and compensated for the young man’s death, but neighbors say he’s become more introverted since then.

“The violence that has hit our city is extremely serious. 3 people were killed and seriously injured by gunfire during a condominium meeting. I am in contact with the local leader and tomorrow I will attend a meeting of the Committee for Order and Security families”, Rome mayor Roberto Gualtieri wrote .
