In the Colombian House of Representatives, the proposal received 139 votes in favor and 8 against. Only 6 votes against and 61 against were voted in the Senate.

He took to Twitter to celebrate the ministry’s founding, noting that it was “a mechanism for moving forward in effectively reducing the gaps in inequality and inequality in Colombia.”

Alexander López, the bill’s rapporteur in the Senate and a member of Francia, also congratulated the bill, declaring that the law saves Colombia “from the misery and tragedy imposed on them by millions of women, peasants, young, indigenous people, black, elderly, diverse communities and Colombian women”.

However, in the comments made to the vice president’s post, some profiles demanded effective results from the file. One of them said that establishing a ministry could not mean more money for bureaucracy in the industry and less money for public policy.

Now, the text of the Chamber and Senate must be combined to go for the approval and signature of President Gustavo Petro.
