ROME, DECEMBER 14 (ANSA) – Russia, this Wednesday (14), ruled out the possibility of a Christmas or New Year truce with Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said the Kremlin had not received “any offers” and that “this issue is not on the agenda”.
The statement was made in response to journalists’ questions about whether Russia would be willing to accept the Christmas truce proposed by Kyiv, according to the local Tass news agency.
Peskov also referred to Moscow’s illegal annexation of four regions in the east and south of the country, stressing that Ukraine must understand the “new realities” created by the war.
Without taking this into account, any progress is impossible.”
