Two people were stranded on their “slingshot” ride after a rope holding the machine came loose at a Christmas theme park in London.

The two men were hung several meters off the ground after the compartment they were in crashed into a metal pillar. It happened yesterday in Hyde Park. The video of those moments was published on TikTok.

The toy in question uses elastic propulsion cables to propel the “cocoon” upward as if it were being moved by a slingshot. Video posted on social media shows one of these steel cables coming loose.

According to the British tabloid newspaper Daily Mail, eyewitnesses said they saw the couple being taken to the hospital, but park organizers denied this.

A spokesperson for the newspaper hide Park Winter Wonderland “We can confirm that a technical problem has occurred. Both were safely disembarked, examined by our on-site doctors, and uninjured.”

The attraction is closed while an investigation is conducted.

“All of our tours undergo strict and regular security checks by experienced and trained health and safety personnel. We also provide regular training to all staff to ensure our guests have a fun and safe experience,” he told the newspaper.

Other attractions on the site are functioning normally.

UK parking safety regulator ADIPS said the site was inspected and found a technical issue with the transmission controlling the release of the bungee cord and wire rope.
