Images of a massive explosion in Morocco are circulating on social networks. As the Al Arabiya news channel showed, the site of the hit is a gas field in the port of Mohammédia.

Moroccan police have blocked roads to the area and firefighters are trying to control the fire. According to the LE360 portal, there is no information about the injuries.

The images show dense black smoke and multiple fires seen from afar. There are no details yet as to the cause of the explosion.

On Twitter, people said they were evacuated from the area.
