Officials in Germany said on Saturday (Saturday 19th) that they had found a significant portion of 18th-century jewelery taken more than three years ago from the Grünes Gewölbe museum in the interior of the country. The crime was considered one of the most glorious crimes of the last decades.

According to officials, the discovery took place before talks between prosecutors and defense attorneys during an ongoing case regarding the theft. Possible solution would include the return of stolen goods.
Six people have been on trial since January on charges of conspiracy, robbery and arson. The next trial session is scheduled for Tuesday (27).

The Grünes Gewölbe museum is located in Dresden Castle and houses one of the largest treasure collections in Europe. It was founded by Augustus the Strong between 1723 and 1729. Today it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city, and about three thousand pieces are on display.
