On Saturday night (24) on Christmas Eve, four people were killed when a bus crashed into a river in the Galicia region of northwest Spain. This Sunday (25), emergency services were still searching for survivors.
The accident occurred in the city of Cerdedo-Cotobade, close to the Portuguese border. Two bodies were found near the crash site earlier this Sunday. Two more were found this morning.
Two injured, including the bus driver, were rescued at the crash site.
A Civil Guard spokesman said one or two people are still missing.
“The number is still unknown as the driver has doubts about the number of people on the bus at the time of the accident,” he said.
Authorities reported that one of the deadly victims was a young Peruvian woman caring for an elderly man in Galicia, and the other three were Spanish nationals, residents of the area.
