With no one aboard, hundreds of kilometers from the mainland and close to the enigmatic Bermuda Triangle, the ship was spotted by two sailors from the Ocean research project.

Investigators immediately noticed the erratic movements of the boat, added to the fact that the sail was not raised, the engine was not running and “There was no sign of anyone.”

Worry that someone might be hurt, the couple He decided to approach the boat, climb aboard and take a look.

One of the team members, Matt Rutherford, checked in while He was coming in to examine the drifting boat.

“This is a terribly abandoned sailing ship”the man said in a note reproduced by the Daily Mail.

“I have no idea what’s inside, I’m going to see and I hope I don’t find a body or anythingthe man added.

As he ventured into the boat, Matt recounted it in the log I was afraid to open doors and cabinets.

But having turned the boat from top to bottom, he said, relieved: “No bodies, thank God“.

“By the way, this is absolutely crazy. More than 1,200 kilometers from Bermuda and almost 2,500 from the United States, staying in a beautiful Swan 48, in the middle of the ocean,” he said.

Matt was able to contact the owner of the boat, who offered him a cash reward if he could get it towed to Bermuda.

The pair of sailors dragged the abandoned boat about 80 kilometers on the second day. “It’s pretty funny a 50 foot boat towing a 40 footer. We are doing everything we can to bring it to Bermuda,” Matt said.

However, after 47 long days at sea, the ghost ship had to be abandoned again after becoming entangled around the rudder, which is a high risk.

According to media reports, the boat would belong to Alan McGettigan, a skipper of the Royal Irish Yacht Club who he traveled with his companionss identified by Declan Hayes, Morgan Crowe and Tom Mulligan.

Apparently, they had to be rescued by a Greek freighter just 100 kilometers north of Bermuda.

The Wolfhound had suffered some damage caused by waves of 6 meters and winds of almost 100 kilometers per hour.

Alan and his crew activated a distress beacon and abandoned the Wolfhound overboard during the rescue, where Matt and his team found him about nine weeks later.
