Good news for those who need a break due to accumulated tiredness: the 2023 will be full of holidays, rest and vacations to enjoy and share good times with family and friends in the United States.
The new year will have 11 days to plan small holidays, including immovable, removable, among others. In addition, there will also be non-working days for the faithful of different religions.
It should be noted that if a holiday falls on a Saturday, for most federal employees, the preceding Friday will be treated as a holiday for pay and leave purposes. The same happens if the holiday falls on a Sunday, but is moved to Monday.
Every year, the officialization of these days of rest are awaited with great attention by US citizens and for this reason they have been designated by Congress in Title V of the US Code for 2023:
January
- January 1 New Year. (falls on a Sunday)
- January 16: Anniversary of the birth of Martin Luther King.
February
- February 20: George Washington’s birthday.
May
- May 29 – Memorial Day or Memorial Day.
June
- June 19: Juneteenth or Freedom Day.
July
- July 4th: Independence Day.
September
- September 4: Labor Day.
October
- October 9 – Columbus Day.
November
- November 11: Veterans Day.
- November 24: Thanksgiving Day or Thanksgiving Day.
