Bolsonaro mocks Lula and asks about condominium prices in the US

The presence of fans in front of the house where President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is staying in Orlando (USA) required the security of the apartment (31) to be activated this Saturday.

How was Bolsonaro’s Saturday?

• The president received an invitation from some of his Brazilian neighbors to attend the New Year’s Eve dinner. One of them commented that he would have picanha for dinner at his house, and Bolsonaro replied:

“It will happen in Brazil too. Since there would be free picanha there, a man calculated how many oxen he would have to produce per year to feed (a family): one picanha per week. There would be no place. There had to be more pasture in Brazil.”

• This comment mocked elected president Lula (PT), who promised during his election campaign that the public would return to eating veal during his own government.
• Accompanied by the UOL report passed outside the president’s house on Saturday, it was the only thing Bolsonaro talked about (though not explicitly) of Lula during the entire term.

Where is Bolsonaro spending his comeback?

There is no official information on where the president will spend New Year’s Eve. He was invited to a party in Mara Lago, two and a half hours from where he was staying, by former US President Donald Trump, but did not make a statement about whether he would attend the event.

President asked about house prices

• After lunch, Bolsonaro toured the block where he was staying, accompanied by Brazilian and American security guards.
• During the trip, the President asked the price of some of the houses in the apartment where most properties are rented seasonally.
• There is information circulating among brokers in the area that Bolsonaro may soon be able to buy a house in the area.

What is most notable?

• Bolsonaro signed nearly 100 autographs and even joked that he would get $10 for each.
• By 12:00 p.m. the president had walked in and out of the house five times to meet fans, most of them in national team jerseys.
• Unlike the president, First Lady Michele Bolsonaro has not been seen outside the property since she entered last night.
• Of the president’s children, only Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) was seen at the scene: he hurried past the door of the house and waved to his father from inside the vehicle.
