1) New York

345,600 millionaires live in the Big Apple, including 737 cents of millionaires (wealth of at least $100 million) and 59 billionaires. New York is the financial center of the United States and the richest city in the world, by various measures.

It is also home to the two largest stock exchanges in the world by market capitalization (the Dow Jones and the NASDAQ). More importantly, the total private wealth of the city’s residents exceeds $3 trillion, more than the total private wealth of most major G20 countries.

192,400 millionaires reside in this area, of which 393 cents and 34 billionaires. The key sectors are entertainment, information technology, retail and transportation.

7) Chicago
