6) Maintain a healthy weight

Being overweight or obese increases your risk of developing diabetes. Diabetes puts you at a higher risk of diabetic retinopathy or glaucoma.

7) Keep blood pressure and cholesterol under control

These diseases can lead to some eye or vision problems.

8) Keep your blood sugar under control if you have diabetes

High blood sugar levels not only damage blood vessels in the eye, but can also affect the shape of the lens and blur vision.

9) Eat foods rich in antioxidants, such as leafy green vegetables

It is recommended that you include plenty of fruits and vegetables, especially yellow and green leafy vegetables. Eating fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon and tuna, can also benefit your eyes.
